MANAGING Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. George Uriesi has lamented the poor way passengers were handling most of the facilities installed at the various airports for the purpose of their comfort and safety.

Speaking during the 7th Travel and Business News Safety, Security and Service Summit organised by Travel and Business News at the NCAA annex, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, the Managing Director who was ably represented by the General Manger Airport Safety Service of FAAN, Mr. Peter Onyeri pointed out that the way and manner passengers were handling most of the facilities at the airports was very bad.

According to him, one thing that we want to draw the attention of the travelling passengers to is how some of them are handling our facilities at the airport, it is very bad and some of them even go to the extent to purposely damage those facilities.

NIGERIA and South Africa have agreed to accelerate the implementation of the 'Cooperation in the field of Tourism Agreement' signed in 2008 to deepen tourism relations between both countries and in Africa.

This was one of the outcomes of a closed door meeting held in Pretoria between South Africa's Tourism Minister, Mr. Marthinus Van Schalkwyk, his Nigerian counterpart, Chief Edem Duke and their top level officials, including Ambassador Sonni Samuel Yusuf, Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa.

Minister Duke, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Ibukun Odusote was on an official four-day visit to South Africa on the invitation of his South African counterpart Mr. Marthinus Van Schalkwyk.

COMMISSIONER for Information, Delta State, Barr. Christopher Chike Ogeah has said that Asaba airport has contributed a lot in boosting economic activities in the state.

Speaking in Lagos recently, Hon. Ogeah stressed that there has been greater economic activities since the Asaba airport was commissioned by the governor of the state.

He said"You know the kind of economic activities the airport in Asaba is generating now, this is purely an aviation activity that is boosting all the other sectors of the economy in the state”

In his address, The general regional manager in charge of South-South and South-East, Engineer Henry Anyawu lauded the leadership of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria under the leadership of Dr. George Uriesi, The managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Airport Authority who initiated the Award for best worker of the year in two categories.

THE total radio coverage of Nigeria on VHF has been completed, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency(NAMA), Mazi Nnamdi Udoh has affirmed.

He made the disclosure while fielding questions from journalists in Windhoek, Namibia during the 18th edition of the Aviation and Allied Business Leadership Conference.
