NIMN inaugurates Board of Fellows

AS part of efforts of its new leadership to reposition the institute and enhance marketing practice in the country, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has inaugurated a Board of Fellows, an advisory body to the institute, with Dr Ify Uriah emerging as the new president of the Board.
Giving reasons for its inauguration, the Acting President of the Institute and Chairman of Council, Mr Ganiyu Koledoye, explained that the setting up of the Board, whose responsibility would be purely advisory, had become imperative to enable the institute draw from the fountain of knowledge of these respected individuals.
He argued that the institute, as well as marketing practice, had not been able to harness their full potential in the country, because stakeholders had not been fully involved in the activities of the institute in the past.
The Acting President said that he believed that the active involvement of senior members of the institute in its activities would enable achievement of the much-needed growth; while at the same time enhance marketing practice in the country.
Koledoye assured the Board of the Council’s readiness to make use of its advice in its bid to raise marketing standards in Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, the Board’s new president, Dr Ify Uriah, assured the institute’s council of the Board’s readiness to work with it to enable the institute take its pride of place in the comity of professional bodies in the country.
He appealed to members of the Board to always make themselves available, noting that the impressive attendance at the meeting was a clear signal that the senior members of the institute were now, more than ready, to wake the institute up from its present state of lethargy.
