Lagos NIPR to discuss good governance at AGM

WORRIED by the insecurity and lack of freedom of human right in the country despite the democratic rule, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos Chapter at its Annual General Meeting coming up between June 28 and July 5, this year in Lagos. Speaking on the forthcoming AGM, the Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Barrister Olajide Ologun, noted that this year’s theme: Public Relations and Good Governance: What Synergy?, will mirror the concerns for good governance of the country, while also x-raying how professional and public relations strategies and methodology could be deployed to enhance participation and cooperation of the citizenry, for effective political leadership.
Besides, he argued, since Nigerians yearn for a wholesome transformation of the country that would guarantee sustainable and efficient infrastructure, good governance, peace and security, the lecture would provide answers to the roles public relations professionals can play to achieve them.
According to him, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos is expected to deliver the lecture of the annual meeting, which is gradually evolving into a strategic and resourceful forum for technocrats and change agents in the society, due to its focus on pertinent issues such as leadership, management of national reputation and good governance among others.
