•As revenue improves at PTML Command

DESPITE the decline in imports recorded in the second half of last year Ports Terminal MultiservicesLimited Command of Nigeria Customs Service generated N71, 267,589.007 this year up from
N51, 264,053,039.00 recorded in the preceding year.
According to records made available to National Daily the amount generated represents 39 percent increase from last year's revenue.
A breakdown of this figure shows that about N43,835, 737, 872.00 was paid into the Federation Account while N27, 431, 851, 135.00 was paid into the Non Federation Account.
The Command also made 18 seizures during the period under review even as some of the seized containers were handed over to relevant government agencies.
The Area Comptroller however warned fraudulent importers to desist from the act as officers of the Command are poised to foil any attempt to smuggle goods into the country.
