The Special Fraud Unit, SFU, has in recent times been regarded as the most vibrant extensions of the Nigeria Police Force, the standard as regards extensive investigation and curbing of fraudulent practices in the society is a culture that is still standing under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin. He spoke with EDIALE KINGSLEY on recent issues as it concerns allegations and the present reforms going on internally and externally in the Special Fraud Unit.

WE are aware that you are investigating a case in FAAN, can we get the update?
Yes that is a very critical case in the sense that it has to be extensive as we want it to be.

THE Single Window regime recently approved by the Federal government has been described as the solution to facilitation of trade in the country.

In a random survey conducted by National Daily some stakeholders opined that with the approval of the new policy Nigeria has joined the league of maritime nations in the facilitation of trade.

President National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders [NAGAFF] Mr. Eugene Nweke said that the approval clearly indicates that government is resolute to reform the country.

CONTAINER throughput at the ports in Lagos is expected to hit two million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the next six years, Managing Director of APM Terminals Apapa Limited, Mr. Dallas Hampton, has said.

Hampton, made this remark while delivering a paper titled: An overview of Nigerian Ports' Location as a Major Determinant of the Greenfield Port Success in Nigeria at the First Nigerian Green Ports Development Summit recently organized by Golden Edge Consult Limited in collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in Lagos.

According to him the maximum capacity that the ports and Inland Container Depots (ICDs) in Lagos can accommodate is 2.2 million TEUs.

MANAGING Director of APM Terminals Apapa Limited, Mr. Dallas Hampton  has said that about 720,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) will be handled at the terminal this year, as against the 650,000 TEUs handled last year.

He  also stated that the cost of generating power at the terminal has been very high  just as management of the company has made necessary investment to ensure round-the-clock uninterrupted power supply.

FOUNDER National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders [NAGAFF] Dr. Boniface Aniebonam recently organized a Thanksgiving service for escaping the wrath of 13 Armed Soldiers that recently stormed the premises of the Association over a petition written against the conduct of a custom officer at Tin-Can Island.

The Soldiers who acted on the orders Mrs Jane Shoboki, wife of a serving Major General in the Army and then head of Customs Intelligence Unit, searched all the nooks and crannies for Dr. Aniebonam to no avail.
