PLANS are underway for the establishment  of a new University in each of the three senatorial zones of  Imo State.

Governor Rochas Okorocha announced the new development in his “State of Imo” address, which he presented before a galaxy of leaders and technocrats at the Heroes Square, in Owerri.

The move, he said was designed “to bring the needless controversy over relocation of Imo State University (IMSU) to an end.

GOVERNOR Gabriel Suswam has reiterated his commitment towards ensuring the safety of lives and property of people of Benue state.

The governor also expressed optimism that the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, “will receive the much needed turn around to attend to the security needs of the country.”

He made the assertions at the official commissioning of 20 additional operational patrol vehicles for the State Police Command in Makurdi.


KOGI State chapter of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 38 suspects, including six women.  It has also impounded 73 bags of Indian Hemp (Cannabis Sativa).

The raid was carried out by combined team of 70 operatives from the NDLEA, the Army and State Security Service (SSS) at the Lokoja Local Government Trailers’ Park in Obajana.

This was disclosed by the Commander of the NDLEA in the state, Alhaji Idris Bello.


THE 23rd Enugu International Trade Fair is holding as from March 23.  Lasting nine days, the Fair is being organized by the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA).

This was announced by the President of the Chamber, Dr. Theo Okonkwo, who has assured prospective participants of “uninterrupted 24-hour power supply during the period of the Trade Fair.


THE Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has kick -started the processes of project execution for the benefit of primary schools and UBE junior secondary schools as well as some selected early Child Care Development Centres (ECCDE).

Speaking  at the public bid opening ceremony, the chairman of SUBEB. Dr Tsevande said N 4.2 billion, representing contributions by the State and Federal Governments  had been earmarked for the project.
