JTF uncovers 23 illegal bunkering sites in Anambra

JOINT team of Nigerian Army and Naval officials has discovered over 23 illegal oil bunkering sites in Anambra State and bunkering equipments worth about N500 million.
The sites were visited by the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Olaniyi , who led a team to Ogbakuba in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State.
During the visit, Olaniyi expressed surprise at the discovery, describing it as “a high level of economic sabotage.”
Similarly, he said, “the current spate of illegal oil bunking business in various parts of the country has continued to undermine the nation’s economy.
He vowed that the Army and other security agencies would intensify efforts to address the ugly situation.
"I am short of words. What is happening here is very alarming and I make bold to say that this is at variance with the developmental agenda of Mr. President because where oil bunkering thrives; it will continue to sabotage our economy. It is very bad.
