IN apparent bid to instil Godliness and discipline in homes, the Senior Regional Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, USA, Dr Femi Ajila has advised parents to pay more attention towards the spiritual growth of their children and wards, and called on them to make the word of God the foundation of the upbringing of their children and wards.

Speaking with National Daily newspaper on effective Christian parenting, shortly after the wedding of his son, Olumide Chris Ajila to former Miss Hannah Yemisi Demuren in Anglican Church of Ascension, Opebi, last week, Pastor Ajila stated that although schools and churches could contribute towards the effective Christian parenting, 95 per cent of the discipline and upbringing of children and wards rests on the parents.

“It is true that the school and church, may contribute significantly to the process of education, discipline and children upbringing, but no outside agency can equal the influence of parent as educative force. Parents should use home as a place to shape and mould the character of their children. However, in every godly home, it must be joint affair in partnership with the Holy Spirit.
To raise godly children, parents should love and talk in love and in firmness. Parents must show good example to them. In addition, parents should desist from comparing their children with others because each child is uniquely and divinely endowed with his own gifts and talents.”

SENIOR Regional Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, United States of America, Dr Femi Ajila, has counselled bachelors and spinsters against relegating God to the background in choosing the life partner, warning that without involving and resting marriage on God could make it hell on earth.

Even as the wife, Pastor Folasade Ajila who have been in marriage in the 35 years, pointedly warned bachelors and spinsters against  choosing life partner by mere cosmetic face because it is like buying a house based on the painting, which will soon fade away.

“Making God your only matchmaker in marriage will help you to depend and go back to Him in prayer whenever there is problem, but if your marriage is based on the handsomeness and beautifulness of a person, you intend to spend the rest of your life with, means you have built your marriage on emptiness and in time of turbulent water, you will have nobody to run to in prayer. The strongest action you can take in any situation is to get on your knees and cry to God, this is why you must make God your life support in marriage and in all areas of your life. ”

The cleric who made this known to National Daily newspaper last week during the marriage of his son, Olumide Chris Ajila to former Miss Hannah Yemisi Demuren, in Anglican Church of Ascension, Opebi, Lagos, reiterated his warning, saying “God is the only builder of solid marriage, make Him your confidant, He will be with you. Marriage is not bed of roses. Since it is not something you can jump in and jump out if it.”
Similarly, the Baba Ijo of Saint Paul Church, Chief Odusanya called on Nigerians to support the government with fervent prayer to curb the insecurity in the country. According to him, prayer is the only way to deal with insecurity in the land.
Odusanya stressed that since prayer is the only way to enjoy and remain in marriage for life, it would be wise for those that are already in marriage and those that are planning to enter into the institution of marriage to make God the bedrock of their marriage.

EDUCATE the women, you educate the nation, empower the women, you empower the nation, improve the health of women, you improve the health of the nation, and improve the overall lot of women, you improve the overall lot of everybody. But why are we not doing it. It is no more news that countries where women are less free are also chart toppers on the global poverty list. Why are we not giving women better opportunities to be all they can, if we truly desire to improve the world?

TO build a vibrant economy of Akwa Ibom State-which is the ultimate goal of this administration, the Government will play a limited but proactive role. The Government must aim at maintaining a market-oriented and business-friendly environment with soft and hard infrastructures. This will help to attract and develop talents and to boost Akwa Ibom role in the Nigeria economy.  This is why Chief Dr Godswill Akpabio is promoting sectors that will generate higher value for the State economy, including financial, logistics, processional, producer services; and tourism and local community economy which will provide more job opportunities for the people.
