THE Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has unanimously passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Board of the NWFL headed by Chief Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyedinma.

This was brought to fore in a communiqué signed by the chairman of the communiqué committee, Emmanuel Zika, after their 2012 NWFL Congress, was held recently  at the Idyll Foundation Hotel, Abuja.

After the Congress, the NWFL collectively approved the Expenditure of the 2012 Super Six Tournament as presented by the Women Football League Board contained in the Congress Brochure, and approved the relegation of Two (2) clubs  Cerezo Queens and Nito Queens at the end of the 2011/2012 Season.

SUPER Eagles Nations Cup hero Sunday Mba who was unveiled by Rangers last week in Enugu, has stated that he has nothing against his former club Warri Wolves.

According to the former Enyimba midfielder, “I am a player, I played for Enyimba and never had problem when leaving to Rangers. I was on loan at Dolphin FC, I don't know how Dolphin FC settled with Rangers, and then transferred me over to join Warri Wolves. I suggest the clubs should sit down and sort issues out, than trying to stop my career. All those years that I have been playing, this didn't come up.

“So I have resumed with Rangers. I just want to face my career and let the clubs reach an agreement.

“I want to let the management of Warri Wolves know that when I played for them, Rangers always made me understand that I am their player.

Five-times European Cup winners Liverpool came up just short Thursday as they crashed out of the Europa League on away goals at the hands of Russian outfit Zenit Saint Petersburg despite a 3-1 win at Anfield.

Two goals down from the first leg, Liverpool looked out for the count after veteran defender Jamie Carragher fluffed an attempted backpass and Brazilian Hulk slipped home the opener to make it 3-0 on aggregate for the visitors.

But Liverpool roared back with two goals from Luis Suarez with Joe Allen netting another in between, but the extra goal would not come as Zenit reached the last 16.

Lionel Messi admits that Barcelona need to raise their level after two below par performances for Tuesday's Clasico in the Spanish Cup against a Real Madrid side desperate for a morale boost.

Barcelona made an almost faultless start to the season only dropping points in the league before Christmas with a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid at the Camp Nou, while they also lost against Celtic in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

But now signs of tiredness are beginning to set in.

Super Eagles boss, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has raised alarm over plans by detractors of the team to pitch him against the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation and the President of the body, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.

Speaking from Abuja on Wednesday afternoon, Keshi said there was never a time he said the NFF was desperate to dispense with his services but only mentioned that they have issues to settle that have since been amicably resolved. “I wonder what people want to gain by saying I’m fighting the NFF, I’m at war with Alhaji Maigari, who in the first place found me worthy of employment as national team’s coach?.
