Mikel seeks Chelsea exit

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is looking to leave west London in the summer, after falling out of first-team favour. The Nigeria international has been a part of the Blues senior team since signing from Lyn Oslo in 2006, but has set his sights on a move away in a bid to gain more regular football.
According to the Daily Mirror, the arrival of Nemanja Matic in January has pushed Mikel further down Jose Mourinho's pecking order, and he's growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of action. With three years still to run on his existing deal at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will be under no pressure to sell Mikel on the cheap, and could use interest from Italy and Turkey to hike up the asking price.
Galatasaray have been mooted as admirers of the 26-year-old, but might not be able to meet the Premier League club's valuation. Having been restricted primarily to cup appearances this season, it looks as though Mikel's time as an important first-team player at Chelsea is over, as he begins his search for a new challenge in his career.
