Adebayor itching for Arsenal

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor says he can’t wait to face his old side Arsenal on March 3.

Adebayor left Arsenal in 2009 for Manchester City before returning to London on loan with Spurs last season and later turned the deal permanent.

"For me, it's a big opportunity to show people I was right to leave Arsenal, which means finishing on top of them," Adebayor told The Sun."

If that's with Tottenham then it's even better. Everybody knows there is a big rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham.

"When I was at Arsenal, my job was to score goals for them. Now I'm at Tottenham and I have to help the team finish in the top four.

"We have a big chance this season to finish on top of them and we have to take it."

The two sides last meeting last November at The Emirates finished 4-2 in favour of Arsenal who rallied after Adebayor had put Spurs head in the 10th minute.

Tottenham and Arsenal are currently separated by one point on the Premiership table on 48 and 47 points respectively although Spurs have a game in hand.

Spurs could extend that gap to four points with an away win on Wednesday at West Ham.
