DEMBA Ba has slammed talk that he may quit Newcastle United this summer, following renewed speculation about his future.

Ba appears to be edging towards committing his future to the club after rumors had linked him with a possible move to Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur or Turkish giant Galatasaray.

A release clause in his contract of just 7 million pounds is still active until July 31, but speaking after Newcastle's shock 1-0 defeat to Chemnitzer FC on Friday night, Ba told the said:  “What can I say? They [the Magpies fans] see me on the pitch in a Newcastle shirt  that's my message to them.

“Like I said on Twitter, it's just rumors. People talk, but what I can say is that none of the teams that have been talked about have approached me. I'm still a Newcastle United player.”

Ba enjoyed a stunning start to last season, and despite a loss of form in the latter half of the campaign, owing perhaps to his strike partner Papiss Cisse's sensational form, he still ended up as the club's 16-goal top scorer.

PARIS Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Thiago Silva from AC Milan on a five-year deal.

The news follows Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi's announcement that he had agreed to sell both Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG.

The Brazil centre-back's agent, Paulo Toniello, had indicated on Saturday morning that the transfer was still "far from" complete, but terms were agreed later in the day and the move has now been finalised.

JOE Cole is back training with Liverpool after a year in France with Lille and is determined to make the most of his second chance at the club.

Cole turned out to be something of a misfit in the 2010-11 season after arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea, with his only Premier League start after Kenny Dalglish replaced Roy Hodgson being the 1-0 loss at Aston Villa on the final day of the season. He was then farmed out on loan after only 12 months at the club.

But with Brendan Rodgers now in charge, Cole hopes to finally excel under his third boss at Anfield.

ENGLISH Premier League Club, Queen Park Rangers (QPR) through the Used Kit Foundation has donated jerseys and training kits to various Football Academies in Lagos. The event which was held at the Agege stadium featured top Soccer personalities in attendance including former Enyimba, 3SC Godfrey Esu, Chairman Ikeja division Football Association, Dele Gbagbodu and other Football top heads.

PORTO will be asked to considerably lower their "inflated" asking price for Brazilian striker Hulk as a host of interested clubs are refusing to pay the €70 million fee.

Hulk, 25, scored 21 goals in 38 appearances in the Portuguese league last season and has attracted the interest of Chelsea this summer. Hulk will not be leaving Porto unless they drop their asking price considerably and there will be a showdown between Hulk's advisors and Porto this week to attempt to facilitate a transfer.
