Wunmi Olufeko fashion Brand, Design for Love(DFL), was borne out of her desire to infuse her love for arts into designing classy outfits for women. According to Wunmi, DFL's brand philosophy is classy-elegance; the DFL woman is an understated beauty, who does not need to try hard to catch attention. DFL, whose works are mostly with Ankara, incorporated with other fabrics like silks, laces and taffetas, are personalised with hand sewn sequins, trims and other embellishments. In this interview with MILLICENT IMADE AREBUN, she speaks on her fashion journey and the challenges and triumphs, associated with the birth of her proudly Nigerian accessories line.

At MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2012

THE collection takes inspiration from Butterflies, which the brand for the last two seasons have come to adopt in its collections. For this collection, LDA has specially designed Butterfly prints in various textures of silk fabrics.

The choice of Butterflies, for the designer symbolises and inspires various things, from the hope of resurrection, to the reminder of the ephemerality of life. Each piece in this “Butterflies” collection is best viewed as a symbol of beauty, femininity, and the ability to be ever-changing.

IS anyone secretly observing or is it my imagination, the visual assault of falling breast (sagging) underneath trendy expensive dresses?

Information from a bra specialist, at Woolworths Lingerie store, ikeja city mall gave credence that sagging of the breast is a sign of adulthood. Weight loss, smoking, large breast, pregnancy, and breast feeding are possible causes of sagging, depending on the body weight, genetics, and hormones varying from women to women.

THE MTN Lagos fashion and design week, which held from 24th to 27th of October 2012, was indeed a fashion salve to fashion lovers, who crave African trends and designs globally.  The exhibition which opened daily and was free for all, was a cove of treasures waiting to be found, with the likes of Design for love, Modu, OSC training Institute, Blings by Patrick Sawye, Tara, Blackberry, Leather designers association of Nigeria, and lots of others, exhibiting their ware, brands and fashion staples.

THE Headies Awards 2012, which held last Saturday, at the prestigious Eko hotel and suites Victoria island Lagos Nigeria, was a night of glitz, drama, comedy and, glamour.   This year Headies didn't live up to its hallmark of excellence, as the organisers were visible disorganised in sorting out, their guest entrances, press and the unfortunates masses with regular tickets, who had to walk miles ,just to get to their entry point into the venue. The yellow carpet was massive though and Headies  organisers had to be commended, for creating such a supersized multilayered carpet and we sure had fun taking pictures, having interviews and networking.
